About

MY HOLISTIC PHILOSOPHY

My belief is that each of us have the opportunity to live the life we envision for ourselves. Counseling can be a unique and intentional space to pause, reflect, and focus on yourself. Life molds us into who we are in this moment, however, we each have the opportunity to cultivate who we want to become. Whether you want to make lasting life changes, process past trauma or learn skills to cope with everyday stressors, finding the motivation to get to counseling is all that matters. I view you as the catalyst for your own healing and growth. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, allowing you to guide the direction of our work and define the goals that are most important to you. As your counselor, I provide a safe, supportive space while empowering you to move toward meaningful and lasting change. Individual Therapy I work with individuals who are seeking change, whether this change is processing trauma, rewriting our negative self talk or learning how we hold our emotions in our bodies. I utilize your own strengths to continue your process of self empowerment, along with somatic work, mindfulness practices and overall awareness of our engrained patterns. Clinical Supervision I provide supportive and empathetic supervision to other practitioners in the helping field. I am a certified supervisor. Please contact me with any questions! Couples Therapy Each one of us have relationships in our lives, and these relationships can be as equally complex as they are rewarding. I utilize the PACT therapy approach when working with couples. You are the expert in your relationship, and the two of you are in each other's care. We will utilize PACT to enhance your skills to improve the quality of your relationship, and repair disruptive patterns. Adoption Services I provide pre and post- placement reports. The process is completed through interviews with all household members, a walkthrough of your home, and the collection of a variety of documents. Session format I offer a 15-minute consultation call at no cost to decide if working together is a good fit! Sessions are 50 minutes in length, with 80 minute sessions also offered. Therapy yields the most consistent results when started on a weekly basis. Therapists might also recommend stepping frequency up or down on a case-by-case basis. Rates & Superbills Individual sessions: - 50 minutes - $170 - 80 minutes- $270 Couples/ Family sessions: - 50 minutes - $185 - 80 minutes - $285 - 110 minutes - $370 I do offer a few sliding scale spots, in the hopes that it can reduce financial barriers to counseling. I am an out-of-network provider so I am not in-network with any insurance companies. However, some people have more out-of-network benefits than they realize when it comes to mental health! I recommend prospective clients call the number on the back of their insurance card and ask the following questions: The 4 questions that you will want to ask an insurance representative: 1. Does your plan include “out-of-network” coverage for mental health? 2. What is your annual deductible for mental health benefits? 3. What is your co-insurance? (What percentage does the plan cover?) 4. Is there a limit on the number of sessions your plan will cover per year? It is also helpful to find out how you can submit your Super Bills to your insurance, which Tricia Cunningham Counseling automatically provides for all clients via email on a monthly basis, upon request. The online system takes payment via anything that acts like a credit/debit card so most HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
